Let The Trousers Do The Talking

Trousers - Primark
Top - New Look
Blazer - Miss Selfridge
Heels - New Look

I didn't know whether to call this post an OOTD or an OOTN (outfit of the night?) as technically this is an evening outfit, not my daytime one. During a recent trip to Primark, amongst many other things, I bought these lovely patterned silk trousers. I'm not usually one to go for really bright colours or prints, however I fell in love with these trousers and couldn't resist buying them. The first thing that I have to note is that they are super versatile and go with so many things. You can dress them up with heels, a top and blazer (as I have here) or dress them down with sandals and a casual denim jacket.
I have decided to dress mine up to go out, and am literally 'letting the trousers do the talking'.
As these trousers make such a statement, I decided to team them with black, as black is safe, simple and classy. By wearing black heels, blazer and top, the turquoise colouring of the trousers stands out more. I decided to keep my accessories extremely minimal - I am only wearing earrings - as too many accessories can be distracting and I was aiming for a super simple evening outfit. The trousers are also extra comfy! They are perfect for when it's not quite hot enough for dresses and skirts, but too warm for leggings and tights.
I'm wearing black wedged heels from New Look which I have loved ever since buying them about a year ago. Once again they are super versatile and can pretty much go with anything; I love how they compliment this outfit! I'm also wearing a simple black vest top from New Look (super cheap) and my trusty Miss Selfridge blazer. I am a massive fan of blazers and think they can make any outfit look classy and sophisticated so they feature in a lot of mine.
As for my hair, I used Got2b's Beach Matte Texturizing Salt Spray which added texture and some beachy waves (which haven't actually come out very well in the pictures!) I decided to leave my hair slightly messy and simple, to add to the casual yet dressed-up look.

How have you been wearing prints and patterns this month?

  4. Love this look! I'm a big fan of dressing up these type of pants. I haven't found any in a colour I like though, so I only go for black and white with patterns. Love yours, so I really wished I didn't have to go abroad to find a Primark store. xx
