Makeup Revolution Baked Eyeshadow

Whether you love them, hate them, haven't tried them or haven't heard of them (in that case, where have you been?) Makeup Revolution is the brand on every blogger's lips right now. The fresh beauty brand launched just last year (not even a year old yet, awweee) with their funky makeup range starting from just £1. If you didn't already know I am OBSESSED with Makeup Revolution and their gorgeous high quality palettes which have very student and purse friendly prices. I previously wrote about the Makeup Revolution Ultimate Eyeshadow Collection (which you can read HERE) and wrote about how much I adore it. Unfortunately it is a little bit too big to pop in my handbag and take out with me (as much I'd like to have all 144 colours on me at the same time), so I've decided to try out one of their smaller eyeshadow collections for the sake of my handbag.
I bought one of their 'Baked Eyeshadow' collections from Superdrug for just £2.50 (browse it HERE). There are five different 'Baked Eyeshadow' compacts to choose from that seem to cater to everyone's taste (think earthy greens to deep purple and pinkish tones) but I decided to go for the 'Pure and Innocent' one which consists of five silky bronze shadows and shimmery neutral shades.

What the website says: "5 silky and blendable baked eyeshadows in 1 which glide on with easy application and can be built up to the desired colour. Baked in our ovens for hours to perfection. The high pigmentation can also be used with a wet brush for an even more intense look."
Although you can't see the swatches THAT well (sorry, uni room lighting) I think it's pretty easy to see that they're all well pigmented and each shade has a gorgeous silky shimmer to it. Although there are times when I prefer a matte eyeshadow, I'm a massive fan of a bit of shimmer on eyelids and think each shade in this compact is lovely with it's individual shimmer. I find that each colour blends really easily onto my lids and I only have to build the shades up when I want a really dark and bold colour. I personally find each little eyeshadow has super good staying-power - I can apply in the morning and it will last all day without fading or dulling (although I do use primer underneath). Each shade in this compact compliments the others - the light, bronzey colours blend together well, and so many different looks can be created. At the moment I'm loving the warm pinky shade, but last week I couldn't put the gold shimmery shadow down! I haven't felt the need to use a wet brush on them yet, but I am really intrigued to see how the colour builds up etc - perhaps something I'll try and get back to you on! The only teeny tiny thing I would comment negatively on is the quality of the eyeshadow brush - using a softer eyeshadow brush from your own collection may make blending easier, but for £2.50 I don't feel I can really complain too much.
I think it was a little obvious that this baby compact was going to live way up past my standards of a £2.50 eyeshadow set, and I'm so happy with it. Perfect for popping in my handbag/makeup bag and can be used really easily to take your make-up from day to night.
Makeup Revolution I love you.
Hope you enjoyed reading!
xx

  14. Super pretty! But like many other beauty bloggers, I own way too many neutral palettes. Even if it is only £2.50! haha!
However, I do really love that bottom right shade! It's gorgeous :)

  26. I love makeup revolution, we've got a big Superdrug beauty studio in Cardiff so there's a huge counter there. The brow kit is one of my faves.
