Mother's Day

Today is the day to celebrate all the beautiful mommas around the world (although they should be celebrated everyday, tut tut) and the perfect chance for me to do a bit of a personal post.
In my opinion photos speak way louder than words, so I've decided to share a bundle of pictures that sum up how I celebrated Mother's Day with my family. I feel like I never share enough personal photos and posts on my blog so feel this is the perfect opportunity - I hope you enjoy it! My mum has looked after me, my two brothers and sister for a long time now and is the strongest, most independent woman I know. Raising four children is quite the task itself, but doing it pretty much alone and with such strength and courage is inspirational. She has shown me so much true courage and strength throughout life, and has honestly been the best form of support, guiding me through life and encouraging me to blossom. As I'm away at uni in Bristol, it was lovely to be home for the weekend and to be able to spend the day with mum and my family.

On Saturday afternoon my siblings and I got out the craft box and made some homemade cards for our mum. My youngest brother is only two and loved getting arty!

My gorgeous little brother. In case you didn't know, he has a lovely little blog that my mum writes. Give it a visit for a cuteness overload: www.icklepickleslife.co.uk.

We woke mum up with flowers, breakfast and presents. My sister and I bought my mum a gorgeous Pandora charm from the Mother's Day range which she loved. We also bought her some Thorntons classics (who doesn't love chocolate?) and gave her our homemade cards. Always go homemade over shop-bought - they are so much more personal and special!

My granddad and two brothers.

After stopping for coffee and teacakes at a cafe in our seaside village we went for a walk along the harbour. My grandparents came too which was extra lovely as I also don't see them much now that I'm living in Bristol. The weather was beautiful and it was so nice to be out in the fresh, salty air.

My mum and brother.

Our lovely little day was completed by lunch on the Marina and a walk along the lake and boats. I had to come back to Bristol this evening due to uni tomorrow, but had the loveliest weekend at home and I'm so glad I could spend Mother's Day with my mum.
What did you do today?
xx
