Angelica Scented Nail Colour Collection

Happy April!
One thing I've never thought of putting together is nail varnish and fragrance, so I was really intrigued when Angelica Nail Colour announced their brand new Scented Pastels Collection. Nails that smell good? Hmmm, this could be interesting. After kindly being sent the collection to review, I've got to say I'm a fan.

(L-R: Blueberry, Strawberry, Peppermint, Mango)

Ok the first thing that I am (so predictably) going to say is that I loveloveLOVE the shades. I am a huge pastel fan and now that we're into Spring I love that I'm seeing them everywhere again. In my opinion, the four shades in the Angelica Nail Colour scented collection are spot on: light, pretty and perfect for summery days. Each colour is gorgeous in itself, but when put together they also make a scrumptious pastel paradise. I'm in love, as you can tell. The nail colours come in small square(ish) bottles with a standard little brush to apply.
In order to build up good colour, you definitely need to apply two or three coats of the nail colour. The nail colour dries into a glossy, silky finish which means I don't have to bother applying a clear top coat. I found the wearing time of these nail polishes to be particularly good - they didn't chip for a fair few days and when I was ready to remove the nail colour it came off with ease.
Now onto the scents. Each nail colour comes in a particular scent - Blueberry, Strawberry, Mango and Peppermint - which is supposed to reveal itself when the polish has completely dried. Although the scents of the nail colour are light and very subtle, I do like the idea of scented nail varnish. When the polish is completely dry, you can faintly smell the fruity fragrance on your nails which is a lovely touch, however they do fade after washing hands, showering etc. My favourite scent out of all four was Mango - a light, summery smell with hints of mango.
Although each nail polish individually (but faintly) smells lovely, I don't think I would pay any extra money because they are scented nail colours. I would, however, buy nail polishes just for the gorgeous shades alone, so if they come with a little fruity smell within the price then I'm definitely not complaining.
You can pick up Angelica Nail Colour's new Scented Pastel Collection from Primark, or view them online here. They retail at £2.75 each - perfect for those who want pretty Spring nails but are on a big budget.
Have you ever tried scented nail varnish?
xx

  2. These sound like they are really good value for money, not too sure whether them being scented makes them any better.

    1. They are good value but you're right, the scent alone isn't the selling point - the shades are, though!
