4 Ways To Quickly De-Stress

Lots of stress can be unhealthy for our minds and bodies; if you're feeling stressed follow these 4 tips to help you quickly de-stress!

1. Take A Bath

A nice hot bubble bath is a great way to de-stress. Try to use bath products that have lavender scents, as the smell of lavender naturally helps to reduce stress. Light a few candles (more lavender scents if you want an extra detox) and close your eyes - after 15-20 minutes you should be feeling calm and fresh.

2. Go For A Walk

Just being outside in the fresh air can instantly reduce your stress levels. When feeling stressed, take some time out to go for a little walk to help clear your head. Having some space away from whatever is stressing you will make you feel calmer and more ready to take on the situation when you return. Beaches are great for walking along when you need to detox your mind!

3. Deep Breaths

The simplest and potentially quickest way to de-stress is to take a minute to focus on your breathing. Close your eyes and inhale through your nose for 5 seconds, and then slowly exhale for a further 5 seconds. Repeat this several times and you should notice your stress levels decreasing.

4. Exercise

Sweat your stress! Exercising releases our bodies' natural stress fighters, endorphins, which ultimately boost our moods. Find a form of exercise that you really enjoy - for example bike riding or rock climbing - and jump into your gym gear whenever you're feeling stressed. After a bit of exercise, you should feel a lot less stressed.

  1. I love having a long hot relaxing bath to de-stress! I also find walking in the nature and just having a peaceful time with myself, listening to other sounds (not music, just silence) very calming :)

  2. Nothing beats a nice hot bath, but I agree with walking on a beach too. Sadly my nearest beach is a few hours away but I lived about 20 minutes away for a year, and I went all the time. Awesome way to spend time.

  3. When I'm stressed I have started coloring in with felt tips, it sounds odd but it's really calming ;-) Love watching and listening to the sea too.

  4. I find that pilates helps a lot when I'm stressed. It just loosens everything and makes me a lot more calm. I love the smell of lavender too - it's so nice!
