The Kensington Hazlitt Hideaway

Last week Lewis and I stayed in London for a few days, and not only were we lucky with the hot weather but we were also lucky enough to be kindly hosted in the Kensington Hazlitt Hideaway - a beautiful little apartment in West Kensington. I've always been a huge fan of London (probably because I've been cooped up in the countryside most of my life!) so was super excited to be staying there in the most beautiful setting. After seeing pictures of our apartment and planning some fun things to do in London (read my Visiting Notting Hill post to check out one of our days!), we were super excited.

The apartment was really easy to get to - we simply got the tube straight from Victoria (where we had arrived in London) to the West Kensington stop. From there, our apartment was roughly a ten minute walk away - perfect for easily accessing the tube and getting around! The apartment was in the perfect location; there is a big Tesco superstore just a short walk away which was ideal to stock up on food, and it was only a fifteen minute walk from Holland Park which is very close to Notting Hill.

The apartment itself sleeps up to six people - with two big double bedrooms and a sofa bed that unfolds in the living area.

The gorgeous interior was definitely my most favourite thing about this apartment. I'm a huge fan of light, spacious rooms and the Kensington Hazlitt Hideaway ticked both of those boxes. The main room in the apartment is a big, open living area which has a big corner sofa, a huge flatscreen TV and a table and four chairs for dining on. The room (in fact, the whole apartment) was put together perfectly - the room was well thought out, and felt huge to us! It was decorated beautifully - there was a colour scheme of white, grey and orange throughout the apartment and each room incorporated this.

The kitchen was a very small area, which was perfect for us two but more than two people and I think it would have been a bit of a squeeze. Everything we needed was provided - a toaster, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and even some complimentary tea and coffee sachets. All crockery was also provided - plates, bowls, cutlery, pans, pots... the only thing that was massively missed by us was wine glasses, which we couldn't find in any of the cupboards. The hob was modern and very efficient - it heated up extremely quickly and made cooking super easy! Handy things like kitchen roll, sponges, a tea towel and washing tablets were also provided. The only thing that we found to be a slight problem was the surface space in the kitchen. There was no cupboard space for our food (as the cupboards were full of utensils/crockery) meaning that we had to store this on the surface. There was also no drying rack or anywhere to put your dishes after washing them as there isn't much surface space, which means washing, drying and putting away as soon as you've used them. Apart from that, however, the kitchen was perfect and had everything we needed.

The bedrooms were absolutely gorgeous - light, spacious and modern, they looked like something straight out of Pinterest or Tumblr. The bedroom that we chose to stay in had three big bay windows that looked out onto the street, and a comfy arm chair next to small table. There were two mirrors in the room (perfect!) and cupboard space to store our clothes and belongings. The room was equipped with beautiful-smelling candles, a pretty plant and bright lamps. The main light was also a dimmer light which we loved - it was perfect for setting the mood. Our bed was super comfy - we both had great nights sleeps and woke up feeling like royalty in our impressive apartment.

The second bedroom was also beautiful - we had a real struggle choosing which room to stay in! It was similarly equipped with candles, plants, lamps and mirrors - and even had a flatscreen TV too.
Big, white fluffy towels (the best kind of towels!) were provided for us and of course the beds were fully made up with fresh linen - all super white and spotless.

The bathroom had an over-the-bath shower (the bath was absolutely huge - perfect teamed up with all those gorgeous candles and another dimmer light!) and small toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and toilet roll were provided. Considering there was no window in the bathroom, it did not feel dark or dingy at all - quite the opposite, in fact - it was bright and modern, like the rest of the apartment.

A washing machine was also, to our surprise, provided. Although we didn't get round to using it, we thought this was a fantastic benefit as often places don't provide this facility and there's nowhere to wash your clothes!
I'm so so so sad to be back home from our little trip away, and cannot thank FG Properties enough for hosting us. Getting to the apartment was also made super easy by Guest Service Team City Relay who ensured that we had everything we needed, and kindly met us at the apartment to hand over the keys and show us around. Excellent service from both! The apartment is modern, clean and equipped with everything you need, whilst being in the perfect location with easy access to the rest of London. If you are visiting London, I strongly recommend you give the Kensington Hazlitt Hideaway a go - it stunned us and we'll definitely be back for more.
