48 Hours in Dublin: 3 Things To Do

Dublin, the charismatic capital of the Republic of Ireland, is a destination to add to your bucket list. Here are a few things to while visiting:

1. Grab a drink at The Temple Bar

If you haven't already heard of The Temple Bar - Dublin's friendliest and most popular 'watering hole' - then it is definitely one to visit. Located on a cobbled street, there is no better place to experience the wonderful atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub. The Temple Bar has regular live music (meaning you will definitely get to experience some traditional Irish folk music) and a huge range of fresh food and drinks. This is definitely the place to sink an Irish Guinness or to try out Irish whiskey. Visit during the evening to see the pub lit up.

2. Take a Trip to the Guinness Factory

There's no better way to experience a Guinness than in the very place it was made. A trip to the Guinness Factory - also known as the Guinness Storehouse - is definitely a must-do when visiting Dublin. Find out (and see for yourself) exactly how Guinness is made and learn all about the origins of the famous and popular Irish dry stout. Look at vintage advertisements and how Guinness as a brand has evolved, discover exactly how Guinness came to take over the world of stout and even learn how to drink Guinness properly (it is an art, you know!) At the end, receive a complimentary Guinness to enjoy in the Sky Bar - an impressive 360 degree panoramic bar that looks over the whole of Dublin.

3. Visit St. Patricks Cathedral

St. Patricks Cathedral is the largest and tallest cathedral in Ireland. It was built between 1220 and 1260 and is, today, the National Cathedral for the Church of Ireland. You can learn all about the history of the building when visiting as well as admire the impressive and stunning architecture. There are over 500 burials on site, including Jonathan Swift - Ireland's most popular and beloved author.

  23. I would absolutely LOVE to visit Dublin. I don't think I'd get to see much, though, as I'm a sucker for an Irish accent, and would probably just sit and chat to the first Irish person I bumped into lol
