The Best Advent Calendars of 2017

Gone are the days of cheap chocolate advent calendars. Well, not quite - I do still love a piece of chocolate every morning in December, but there are some new advent calendars on the block that put your chocolate ones to shame. I'm talking advent calendars that include gin, cheese, wine, beauty products, perfumes... scroll down for the best advents of 2017.

Asda's Cheese Advent Calendar

Asda is making every cheese-lover's dreams come true this Christmas with an entire advent calendar dedicated to cheese. Yes, cheese. 24 individually wrapped pieces of cheese wait behind the doors of the advent calendar so you can enjoy a deliciously cheesy treat every single day leading up to Christmas (can you think of anything better?). The calendar is designed to open up like a book, and after the first 12 days of Christmas you can rip one half off to make room in the fridge (for all that wine to enjoy your cheese with...). The cheese advent calendar is available to buy from 6th November in Asda stores for just £9.99.

Aldi's Wine Advent Calendar

Did someone say a wine advent calendar? Aldi are taking the advent calendar game to a whole new level with their wine advent. Behind each door is a 200ml bottle of wine (which is more than a medium sized glass of wine) and the types are thought to range from red, white and rosé to sparkling wines from Italy and France. A glass of wine a day on the run-up to Christmas sounds pretty ideal. The calendar costs £49 - which equates to just £2 a glass of wine. Don't mind if I do!

Asos Beauty Advent Calendar

Asos have brought out their beauty advent calendar for 2017 and it is set to be a big-seller. The advent boasts 24 different products from brands including NYX, St Tropez and Smashbox - perfect if you don't want to commit to just one beauty brand in your advent. The last window offers an Asos discount code - just in time for those Boxing Day sales. The advent opens up like a glossy book and is stylishly designed with a marble-like finish. For £55, you get a lot of lovely high quality products.

Gin and Tonic Advent Calendar by The Pip Stop

Wine ain't your thing? Do not fear, I've got you covered. The Pip Stop have brought out a gin and tonic advent calendar for all those gin lovers out there. On the 1st December (behind the first door) you will find a whole bottle of the Lakes Gin, and from then on behind every door is a different bottle of tonic to enjoy your gin with. That's a gin and tonic every night for the whole run-up to Christmas - yes pleaseee. The tonics include brands such as Fentimans, London Essense, Fever Tree and Double Dutch. Forget just ordinary indian tonic water too - expect flavours such as watermelon, pomegranate and basil and tangerine and cucumber. Mmm... The gin and tonic advent calendar is £99.

Makeup Revolution Advent Calendar

Compared to other beauty advent calendars, Makeup Revolution's advent for 2017 won't break the bank. The advent contains 25 beautiful treats for your eyes, lips and face. Expect highlighters that make you glow, lipsticks in every shade that's hot this festive season, high quality makeup brushes and a full size exclusive eyeshadow palette. Phew! Definitely worth the £30 I'd say. What better way to test out the makeup than on Christmas Day and New Years?

Molton Brown Cabinet of Scented Luxuries Beauty Advent Calendar

Even the name of this makes me want it. Cabinet of scented luxuries? Yes please! Molton Brown have brought out their advent calendar for this year and it is packed full of luxury goodies - from classic favourites to new scents. Inside you can find body washes, lotions, hand creams, exfoliators, candles, scrubs, shampoo, a hair mask, perfumes and even a vintage bauble. This £165 advent will have you smelling delicious throughout the whole of December.

  3. The ASOS beauty one looks so pretty but, in all honesty, I would pick the cheese one over all of them. Thank you for your post and opening my eyes to the possibility of a whole month of cheese tasting!
