7 Things To Do On a Sunday (That Will Make Monday Easier)

1. Make a delicious breakfast. 

For weekday 9-5ers, a delicious breakfast that you slowly make at your own pace in your favourite dressing gown while sipping coffee is just not an option. Instead, we barely have time to down a coffee (and when we do it results in burning our throats) and chuck a couple of pieces of bread in the toaster. Use your Sunday to make a delicious breakfast or brunch with all the trimmings - avocado, grilled bacon, fruit, fresh juice... and it will really help soothe a hangover too.


2. Set some goals for the week. 

This can literally take just five minutes out of your day - but it will make you feel better for the week looming ahead. Decide on five things that you want to achieve this coming week and make a note of them. They can be as big or as small as you want.

3. Pick your clothes up off the floor and sort out your wardrobe. 

If you're anything like me, then the further that you get into the week, the less tidy and caring you become. That jumper that you were going to wear to work but decided, 3 minutes before leaving the house, that it didn't go with the rest of your outfit? Just chuck it on the floor. Those smart trousers that have to be hung up otherwise they crease and wrinkle? Just put them on your bedroom chair until you can be bothered/have time to hang them back up. Take a little bit of time out of your Sunday to clear up your clothes and organise your wardrobe for the week ahead. You'll feel so much better choosing your outfit on Monday morning.


4. Fresh sheets? Yes please. 

Nothing welcomes a fresh new week like some fresh new sheets. Do a big wash, chuck extra fabric conditioner in there (and your pjs for the extra fresh Sunday evening experience) and make sure that they are all dry in time for the evening. You'll feel so much better about going to work the next Monday morning going to sleep in fresh sheets that smell like heaven. It's the little things that help the most!


5. Pamper yourself.

If there's one thing that Sundays are perfect for (besides roast dinners), it's a good old pamper sesh. Run a hot bubble bath, put on a face mask and watch a feel-good film. Treat your skin to some healthy goodies (such as a deep scrub) and do your nails too. You will feel ready for the coming week in no time.


6. Gentle exercise. 

I know, I know, Sundays are for resting - but some gentle exercise never hurt anyone. In fact, it can make you feel pretty good. Do some yoga or go for a gentle jog - something that is light and rewarding on a Sunday, but not quite your midweek hardcore gym sesh. If it's sunny, yoga or pilates in the garden with a friend can be a healthy Sunday afternoon activity.

7. Bake. 

There's something about baking on a Sunday afternoon that just feels right (...is that just me?) Spend a little bit of your Sunday baking - it is therapeutic, fun to do and rewarding. Waking up to fresh chocolate brownies on a Monday morning certainly makes it easier to get up. If you want to try something a bit healthier and easy, make a banana bread. If you want a bit more of a challenge, try making homemade eclairs or baked Alaska.

  1. I love this, especially the baking part. Sunday is the only day I get time to bake, but it means we have something nice all week, and my kids enjoy it too!
