My exams are officially over! I had my last exam on Thursday and have finished college for good. In some ways I feel sad because college has honestly been a really good two years of my life and I've met lots of lovely and amazing people. I do, however, feel ready to take the jump into uni life and move on in my education. I feel like I have so much ahead of me, and this really is just the beginning!
My exams were quite a stressful time for me purely because of the pressure and amount of work that is expected of an A-Level student. At the ripe age of seventeen, all I want to do is sit and read magazines, blog about fashion and go for long walks on the beach. But no, doing A-Levels means endless nights in clutching a textbook and a highlighter and even more days spent reading ridiculous amounts of information. I'm so glad to have finished and so far have embraced my new-found freedom with drinks in the garden with friends, an afternoon on the beach with my family and a lovely meal out to a surfy Australian restaurant with Oscar. The sun has been shining and planting lots of freckles and I've been out and about with the daisies (as you can see above!)
This also leads me to my next point. Above is a picture of a little sign that my mum recently bought me, that says 'Think Happy Be Happy'. Besides the fact it is very cute and colourful, it also carries an important little message that I feel is particularly relevant to me right now. It often feels like days can just race by - sometimes we're so busy trying to plan the days, or even months, ahead of us that we don't have enough time to just stop and enjoy today. I often find myself thinking 'I can't wait for...' or 'It will be so great when...' but really, today is pretty great too. Even though your plans for tomorrow, next week, next month or even next year look pretty good, enjoy the plans you made today too. Yesterday me and Oscar spent most of our day just lying in the garden with a jug of iced lemonade and a stack of magazines (that all happened to belong to me). This wasn't planned, but that morning I woke up and thought 'today is going to be a really good day', and it was. I think the point I'm really trying to make is that happiness is so important and if you're doing something that doesn't make you particularly happy, then stop. Positive thoughts lead to positive experiences - get up today and think happy, be happy. No matter what you are faced with that day (whether it be an exam, a job interview, a day of work or nothing at all), just think happy thoughts and happiness will find you.
