Being the typical poor student, I had to keep my price range relatively low whilst on my lipgloss hunt and look for one that had quantity as well as quality (no one likes a lipgloss that runs out after four applications). I was in Superdrug when I came across the little beauty that is Intense Kisses High Intensity Gloss in 'Kiss and Make Up' by MUA (Makeup Academy). Having previously not had the best experience with MUA (the pigmentation of their eyeshadows did not impress me), I decided to give their lip department the benefit of the doubt.
The first thing that attracted me to this little gloss was the price - a pocket-friendly £2. Compared to all the other prices bursting out around me (can you actually justify a £17 lipgloss?), this little £2 gloss seemed perfect.
Although there were eight shades to choose from that all looked pretty scrumptious, I went for 'Kiss and Make Up' - a rich pink shade with peachy and orange undertones.
My favourite thing about this lipgloss is that it's not actually too glossy - it's more like a velvety cream than a sticky gloss, which I prefer. The texture is light and not too thick or clumpy, and I find the gloss applies smoothly and evenly. This particular shade is highly pigmented, definitely living up to it's 'high intensity' description. The shade and texture is very easy to build up - just one coat of the creamy gloss leaves a rich, velvety finish on your lips. I find the gloss to be hydrating and moisturising on my lips, never leaving them feeling dry or chapped afterwards (my pet hate with typical lipsticks/glosses). So far, so good. Now comes the most important part/function of any beauty product - the staying power. Unfortunately I found the staying power of this lipgloss to be pretty poor. It lasts for around an hour - sometimes two if you can avoid eating, drinking or just generally talking. Although the shade, pigmentation and texture of this lipgloss is gorgeous, having to reapply it more than several times a day can be really annoying.
I would recommend this little beauty to anyone who doesn't mind having to regularly top up lipgloss, but if you're a busy girl on the go this will not provide you long-lasting all day wear.
If you fancy picking up one of these little glosses, they are currently on sale for just 75p over on the MUA website! For 75p I don't mind having to reapply so often.
xx
It is a lovely colour, and they are such a great bargain buy for 75p aren't they.

Lovely isn't it??
DeleteI can't believe how cheap this is?! I'm not usually a lipgloss person but the shade looks lovely. I'd probably be willing to purchase a lipgloss if they were all as cheap as this! Great find

DeleteThis looks like a gorgeous shade! I'm not too keen on lip glosses but if it's not too glossy then I might be able to wear it. Thanks for the review! :)

It's not too sticky or glossy so perfect for those who aren't too keen on lipglosses. I've only recently started using lipglosses as I've always preferred a lipstick, but I love this :)
DeleteGreat review! Thank you for sharing this to us. Hope you have a fun-filled Friday! :)

I agree, but find MUA can be a bit hit and miss. This is a hit though!
DeleteWow this seems such a good bargain for 75p! Even if you don't get that much wear time from it, it's still a really pretty colour xx

DeleteWow what a bargain! The colour is nice, Im not a huge lipgloss fan, I always think of them as being super sticky but now you can find some really nice non sticky ones Im debating trying them out again.
