Two weeks ago I was sent a lovely little parcel which contained a brand new Bionsen deodorant ('Bionsen Caring Touch'), not yet released in Boots. In case you didn't know, Bionsen is an aluminium and paraben-free deodorant range which contains spa minerals that help to protect and nourish skin. The first thing that caught my attention with this deodorant was the fact that neutralising and natural Japanese spa minerals are used, meaning no harsh chemicals or alcohol is involved. Some deodorants can dry your skin out, so it's important to know exactly what you're putting on it - especially if you have sensitive skin. The Bionsen range claims to neutralise body odours rather than stopping you from sweating completely, so I was intrigued to see if this little deodorant would work for me, and have been trialling it for the past two weeks.
Bionsen offers a range of different deodorants - from sprays and spray pumps to dry sticks. I was sent the 50ml Caring Touch roll-on deodorant, retailing at £2.35. To put it out there, when buying deodorants I never usually go for wet roll-ons, just because most of my experiences have involved me waiting ages for the stuff to dry. I usually opt for spray deodorants or dry stick deodorants as I personally feel they work better with my skin, so I was really interested to see if the new Bionsen roll-on would be different from the rest.
On the label: "Bionsen Deodorant with Japanese Spa Minerals takes care of your skin for a long lasting freshness. Thanks to ZINC PCA and its bacteriostatic properties it helps to prevent unpleasant odours. Vitamin E and emollient agents complete the formula, for soft and smooth skin."
The first thing that I have to say about this deodorant is that it smells so good. Fragrance is a really important factor for me when picking out a deodorant and if it doesn't smell nice it can really put me off. Luckily, the Bionsen Caring Touch smells pretty damn good - a light, fresh and floral fragrance that definitely masks any odours. When I first applied the deodorant I did find that I had to wait a little while until my skin felt completely dry, but I did expect this. After a few days, however, I found that I was getting used to the wet roll-on and how much to use, and the waiting time did seem to become less and less as time went on.
I have been pleasantly surprised by this deodorant - it provides good all-day coverage and has kept me feeling pretty fresh and fragranced all day long. There's nothing worse than being out and about and feeling sweaty and self-conscious, so it's nice to have found a roll-on that is up to the job. I love the fact that this deodorant is enriched with Vitamin E - I could really notice the difference when comparing it with previous deodorants. I found that the added Vitamin E really helped to moisturise my skin and prevent it from drying out, which is an added bonus. Over the past two weeks I've really come to like this deodorant - it's definitely staying in my daily routine.
The new Bionsen Caring Touch deodorant is launching in Boots a week today - on the 9th March - exclusively to Boots. Although £2.35 is a little more than I would spend on a usual deodorant, I do love the fact that it is aluminium and paraben free, so perhaps the price does weight out. It has been gentle on my skin, provided long lasting freshness and done its little job as a deodorant.

Oh!! That one sounds like a winner! Love when there are added benefits to a deodorant -- like being moisturizing and not being cakey and gross.

You should give it a try, I find it so fresh and floral! x
DeleteI generally spend about £5 every few weeks on a deo because I know I over apply, therefore it's nice to here this is less than half. I will have to give this a try. :)
