5 Foods To Boost Your Mood

1. Dark Chocolate

Although I'm sure none of us have ever needed an excuse to eat chocolate, here are a few great reasons to get stuck in. Studies have shown that dark chocolate helps to reduce the chances of a stroke, improve your circulation and is good for your skin. Packed with antioxidants, eating lots of dark chocolate has been proven to lead to a much less stressful lifestyle. Someone pass me the chocolate...

2. Salmon

Salmon is super rich in Omega-3 and vitamins, and eating it helps to release dopamine and serotonin naturally into your body. Salmon has been proven to help reduce depression, improve skin texture and even add some sparkle to your eyes!

3. Lentils

Super high in nutrition and low in calories, lentils need to make their way into your diet ASAP. Proven to lower cholesterol, help stabilise blood sugar levels and increase your energy, lentils are a tasty addition to any meal. Lentils help to naturally release serotonin in your body, leading to a happier and more relaxed you.

4. Apples

An apple a day keeps the doctor away... and many other things too. Apples are known to help keep your teeth white and pearly, to reduce your risk of diabetes and to boost your immune system through antioxidants. Apples help to wake you up and keep you up without the typical crashes you may experience from other energy boosters such as caffeine.

5. Greek yoghurt

Greek yoghurt teamed with fresh fruit is the perfect thing to start your day with, and will leave you feeling great all day. Full of calcium and protein, greek yoghurt helps your body to avoid anxiety and depression, leading to a happier and healthier you. Yum!

  1. I really need to eat the right food to boost my mood - just a shame I don't eat dark chocolate, would much prefer to eat a huge bar of diary milk instead! x

  2. I love all of those except dark chocolate. I really don't like the taste of it yet but it sounds like a super food so I will try it again.

  3. This is such a great idea for a post! The only two I like is the chocolate and yoghurt though!
